More than a dozen forms related to the process of obtaining protection orders – in 10 of the state’s most common non-English languages (including Arabic, Simplified Chinese, French and Haitian Creole, among others) – are now posted on the Unified Judicial System’s website. Language Services Associates (LSA) was hired to complete this document translation project for the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania after a competitive bidding process. This article discusses the importance of having these forms available for non-English speakers in multiple language offerings.
